The Process
Whether you’ve worked with other landscape designers in the past or this is your first time, it is important to understand the design and installation process. I focus on listening and understanding your needs throughout the process and designing an outdoor space just for you using sustainable landscaping practices.
A brief phone call allows us to get to know each other a bit and determine if we are a fit from style, personality and timeline perspectives.
If we decide to proceed, I’ll come to meet you and any others who will be involved in the decision-making for an on-site, initial consultation.
Once I understand the goals for the project and a bit more about you and your property, I will measure and take copious photographs.
I typically provide 2-3 concept designs, which we use at our next meeting to brainstorm and settle on how we want to use the space, a general sense of materials and colors and the next steps.
I finalize the plan based on our discussion and provide final dimensions, materials and plant list.
Once the final plan and approach is approved, I send it out for proposal.
After an installer is chosen, I will oversee the installation on your behalf.
Upon completion, I provide maintenance instructions and will answer any questions you have about how best to enjoy your new outdoor space!
